Job Description

The Preconstruction Manager is a senior leader responsible for driving all preconstruction activities from initial project planning through handoff to the execution team. Based in Abilene, TX, this individual owns the full preconstruction lifecycle — including budgeting, scheduling, estimating, risk assessment, and scope definition — and ensures every project is set up for success before a single cable is pulled. Day‑to‑day, this role requires close collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to develop sound execution strategies and deliver preconstruction packages that reflect both technical rigor and cost discipline.

The Preconstruction Manager leads the bid process, manages subcontractor and vendor relationships, and presents recommendations to both clients and internal leadership. Their work directly impacts client confidence, project margins, and the company’s ability to win and execute complex work efficiently.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with deep estimating and preconstruction experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for building high‑performing teams. This role supervises preconstruction staff and reports to senior company leadership, while interfacing regularly with owners, project managers, estimators, vendors, and clients.
