Traveling Superintendent

Location: Houston, TX / Abilene, TX (Traveling Role)

Salary Range: $130, + Fuel Reimbursement + Project Bonus Potential

Our client is a growing commercial general contractor with a strong presence across Texas, specializing in industrial, medical, retail, automotive, and ground‑up commercial construction projects.

They are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee two ground‑up warehouse / PEMB projects located on a major data center campus in Abilene, TX.

This Superintendent will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day field operations, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedules, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality execution within a highly active, controlled‑access project environment. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who thrives in fast‑paced commercial construction settings and has experience managing large‑scale ground‑up projects from sitework through completion.

This is a traveling contract position offering the opportunity to work on a high‑profile data center campus with a well‑established and growing contractor.

• Oversee daily field operations from project startup through completion
• Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, site access, and project logistics
• Maintain project schedules and proactively resolve field‑related issues
• Enforce strict safety standards and job site compliance procedures
• Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and ownership representatives
• Conduct quality control walkthroughs and maintain jobsite organization
• Manage scheduling coordination between multiple contractors operating on the campus
• Assist with project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
• Utilize Procore and other construction management software to support field operations
• Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience within commercial construction
• Ground‑up commercial construction experience required
• Experience with warehouse, industrial, PEMB, large commercial shell, or tilt‑wall projects strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor management, and scheduling coordination
• Experience operating within strict safety or controlled‑access environments preferred
• Ability to manage fast‑paced projects with accelerated schedules
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to pass background checks and random drug testing requirements

• Experience with traveling superintendent assignments strongly preferred
• Data center or mission‑critical project exposure is a plus, but not required
• Experience with steel erection coordination and PEMB construction highly valued
• Self‑directed and capable of operating independently in the field
• Strong safety mindset and proactive communication style
• Resourceful problem solver with the ability to adapt quickly
• Even‑keeled personality with strong relationship‑building skills
• Comfortable temporarily relocating for project assignments
• Long‑term mindset and interest in growing with a rapidly expanding contractor
