The Senior Project Manager will develop and lead the company’s Government Contracting Division. This role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, securing, and managing complex federal, state, and local construction projects nationwide—from proposal and contract award through project completion.

We’re looking for a true hunter—someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, pursuing new business, and winning federal contracts while helping grow and lead a nationwide Government Contracting Division.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in government contracting, RFP analysis, proposal development, subcontractor sourcing, and project leadership, with proven success delivering projects on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to build and lead a growing division, develop strategic industry relationships, identify new revenue opportunities, and drive company growth through both operational excellence and business development initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, pursuit, execution, and successful completion of government construction projects while ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue federal, state, and local contracting opportunities through relationship building, networking, bid review, and strategic business development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agencies, prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers to support project success and division growth.
  • Manage project estimating, procurement, contract negotiations, change orders, and cost forecasting using estimating and construction management software.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with design standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Utilize tools such as Pro Core and Bluebeam for project scheduling, document control, RFIs, submittals, communication tracking, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits, lead project coordination meetings, supervise construction activities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure work quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Participate in proposal strategy, client presentations, and contract negotiations while collaborating with leadership on market expansion, revenue goals, and long-term division growth.
  • Build and expand a scalable subcontractor and vendor network while representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities nationwide.
  • Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements are complete, accurate, and aligned with company policies and legal standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the construction industry
  • Proven experience in federal, state, and/or local government construction contracting
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, bidding strategies, contract acquisition, and project delivery
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to revenue growth
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to help build and scale a growing division
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Self‑motivated, accountable, and results‑driven
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and have a clean driving record
