Additional Compensation:
Per Diem will be included in pay and determined on a project by project basis. Trips home and a company truck will be provided when applicable (see Samuel EPC Employee Exempt Handbook for details).

Pay rates:
Salary rate will not increase with additional hours worked. Pay rate for a specific project is fixed regardless of hours worked and differs between field and home office assignments.

Payable Bonus options can be earned based on exceeding profit margins for projects.

Purpose:

The Construction Manager is responsible for the execution, overall administrative and technical direction for a construction project. The role also includes implementation and adherence to all Safety or Quality policies and procedures, development and implementation of craft work packaging, and comprehensive coordination and execution of all subcontracts for the construction of a facility.

Work Schedule:

Varies by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week.

• Assist with implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
• Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Provide direction to planning constructability, building work packages and scheduling efforts.
• Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of all superintendents on assigned projects.
• Interact with customers.
• Provide leadership to the site team and efficiently coordinate subcontractors on the same site.
• Authorize/approve project personnel transactions including hiring, transfers, training, wages, etc. through effective management of project superintendents.
• Interface with Project Manager, Engineering staff, Subcontractors, client representatives (including 3rd party inspections) to ensure all company, client and project policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Construction.

• Ten (10) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro‑chemical complexes, power plants, etc.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage employees, budgets, and construction schedules effectively.
• Knowledgeable of current construction technology such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
• Ability to interact effectively with employees, clients, and subcontractors.
• Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and how they apply to industrial construction projects.
• Previous hands‑on Project Superintendent experience.
• Ability to work with others to develop a team atmosphere and achieve job goals.

• Stand or walk for long periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment.
• Stoove, kneel, crouch and crawl as necessary.
• See well (naturally or with correction).
• Eye‑hand coordination.
• Good physical fitness.
• Good sense of balance.
• Work at great heights.
