Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Construction Manager to lead large field crews and ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to quality standards.

This is a highly active field leadership position. The ideal candidate will be a strong people manager who can oversee large teams, hold employees accountable, resolve issues quickly, and keep projects moving. Extensive fiber or data center experience is not required—strong construction leadership, workforce management, urgency, and execution are the key priorities.

The Construction Manager may oversee 30+ personnel directly and 100+ workers across larger project operations, including cable pullers, installers, splicers, material personnel, safety teams, and other construction resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise large construction crews and field personnel.
  • Oversee daily site activities and maintain strong workforce productivity.
  • Manage crews involved in rack installation, fiber/copper installation, cable pulling, splicing, and related construction activities.
  • Monitor project progress, schedules, manpower, and daily production.
  • Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure work meets project standards.
  • Identify performance issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and project deadlines.
  • Coordinate personnel, materials, equipment, and resources to keep projects on schedule.
  • Communicate project status, staffing needs, risks, and issues to project leadership.
  • Use Excel, scheduling applications, and project-tracking systems to maintain accurate project information.
  • Work closely with field teams and leadership to resolve issues quickly.
  • Support workforce scheduling and coordination using tools such as Touchpoint or similar platforms.
  • Travel or relocate between project locations based on business requirements.
  • Work extended shifts as required by project schedules, including potential overtime.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction, field operations, site supervision, or related experience.
  • Proven experience managing construction crews or large field teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee 30+ personnel, with experience managing 100+ workers strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable for productivity and performance.
  • Strong field presence with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project tracking, scheduling, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable working approximately 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week, with potential overtime/6th-day work.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
  • College degree is not required.
  • Fiber, structured cabling, telecom, or data center experience is preferred but not required.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a high-energy Construction Manager, Superintendent, or Field Operations Leader who is comfortable being on the jobsite and actively managing people throughout the day.

We are looking for someone who can manage a large workforce, identify problems quickly, hold teams accountable, and make sure work gets completed correctly and on time. Candidates from commercial, industrial, electrical, telecom, utility, infrastructure, oil & gas, manufacturing, or other large-scale construction environments are encouraged to apply.

Strong people leadership and execution are more important than having specialized fiber or data center experience.
