The Content and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for capturing, creating, and managing daily content for Abilene Christian University's (ACU) social media channels. This role takes a reactive approach, focusing on real-time storytelling, student engagement, and maintaining an active, authentic social media presence. Additionally, this position will oversee student employees to ensure a steady flow of diverse and engaging content that reflects ACU's brand and mission.
- Serve as an on-the-ground content creator, gathering photos, videos, and stories from students, faculty, and campus events to share across ACU's social media platforms.
- Manage day-to-day posting, engagement, and community interactions across all social media channels, ensuring timely responses and fostering meaningful conversations.
- Build and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and departments to source relevant and compelling content.
- Cover live events, student activities, and key university moments in real-time, creating engaging multimedia content for various platforms.
- Recruit, train, and supervise student employees, providing guidance on content creation, social media best practices, and ACU's brand voice.
- Ensure that all social media content aligns with ACU's mission, values, and student experience while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Collaborate closely with the Social Media Strategist to align content with broader university marketing and communication goals.
- Monitor ACU-affiliated social media accounts, social media trends, student interests, and industry best practices to keep content fresh, engaging, and relevant.
