Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, Martinez Elementary will reopen as an ACE campus, a proven whole-school model that provides intentional supports to ensure that every student can succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances
Primary
Purpose:
The ACE Classroom Teacher provides all students with engaging and rigorous learning experiences in core academic subjects to allow students to reach their full intellectual, emotional, physical and social potential.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
* Bachelor's degree from accredited university
* Valid Texas teaching certification with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
* Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned [Physical Education Teachers:
Current AED certificate]
Special Knowledge/Skills
* Proven success in leading a classroom in pursuit of academic excellence for all students
* Demonstrate a belief that all students can achieve high levels of rigor
* Demonstrated ability to support all types of students, including students with special needs and Emergent Bilingual students
* Deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction as well as educational evidence-based practices
* Knowledgeable in the physical, mental and emotional child development process
* Fosters a classroom environment with high structure and positive relationships
* Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
* Experience in using and interpreting data to inform decision-making processes that allow for intentional actions and lead to improved student achievement
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Contributes to a culture, climate, and environment that values collaboration
* Ability to build partnerships with local businesses and organizations to provide real-world experiences and to connection to curriculum
* Ability to tell the AISD stories of inspiration, success, and opportunities
* Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic educational environment
Experience
* One year student teaching or approved internship

Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Practices
* Promote the expectation for high-level performance from students and recognize excellence and achievement.
* Develop and monitor instructional and classroom management strategies to ensure that instructional practices are aligned to evidence-based practices implemented with fidelity.
* Ensure high-quality instructional materials and resources are implemented with fidelity.
* Prepare for class assigned and fully internalize lessons and instructional requirements of the district's curriculum program.
* Evaluate and assess student performance in alignment with campus and district practices and expectations.
* Assess and document student mastery of curriculum objectives and student progress.
* Disaggregate and interpret data in order to assist in developing appropriate next steps for classroom improvement.
* Integrates technology to enhance real-world applications to the learner's experience.
* Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, materials, and technology to meet the diverse needs of students..
* Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals and objectives for students receiving special program services.
* Follow all policies, practices, and procedures that create optimal learning conditions for students with special needs in alignment with IDEA.
Classroom Management and Organization
* Develop a classroom community that promotes student collaboration and ownership of academic performance and behavior.
* Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, emotional, and leadership development of students.
* Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
* Compile and maintain required records.
Culture & Climate
* Create, cultivate and lead a culture of excellence, support, and community for all classroom stakeholders.
* Develop a classroom student behavioral support system that results in positive student behavior and enhances the classroom and school climate.
* Facilitate effective and timely resolution of conflicts.
* Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
* Enhance students' social, emotional, behavioral, and academic achievement.
School or Community Relations
* Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
