QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- Master's degree
- Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
- Certified Texas Evaluation and Support System (TTESS) appraiser - preferred

Skills:
- Proven success in leading a school toward continuous improvement in academic goals with a relentless pursuit of academic excellence for all students
- Deep knowledge of curriculum and instruction and evidence-based practices
- Demonstrated leadership on campus-wide committees and/or campus-wide activities
- Proven experience to use and interpret data to inform decision-making processes that allow for intentional actions to lead to improved student/campus achievement
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience:
- Three years' experience as a classroom teacher
- Assistant Principal Experience preferred

- Take a leadership role in planning activities and implementing programs to ensure attainment of the school's mission.
- Delegate leadership responsibilities as appropriate, ensuring strong systems of monitoring, support, and feedback for campus staff.
- Serve as a member of the campus-based Instructional Leadership Team & site-based decision-making committee, and others as assigned
- Promote the expectation for high-level performance from staff and students and recognize excellence and achievement.
- Develop and monitor instructional and administrative processes to ensure that instructional practices are aligned to evidence-based practice and implemented with fidelity.
- Ensure high-quality instructional materials are resources are implemented with fidelity.
- Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate. Participate in program evaluation measures and make suggestions for improvement where needed.
- Establish clear expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies and classroom management and communication with parents, families and community members.
- Provide professional learning to support the teaching staff in accomplishing the school's instructional goals.
- Disaggregate and interpret data in order to assist in developing appropriate next steps for campus improvement and for recognition of success.
