Summary/Scope:
The Peer Academic Coach assists a Strategic Learning Initiative (SLI) Instructor by helping students connect, adjust, and succeed within the HSU academic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of an SLI Instructor.
- Provide Peer Academic Coaching during weekly, thirty-minute individual meetings with SLI students.
- Complete initial and weekly Peer Academic Coaching training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Peer Academic Coach or SLI Instructor.
Education/
Experience:
Must be a Hardin-Simmons University student in good academic standing that has been through and completed the SLI program.

The student worker must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position also requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods while performing office and phone/computer operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the student worker is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
