Summary/Scope:
We are looking for a part-time faculty member to teach three classes in dance for the Theatre Program:
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Essential Duties/Basic Responsibilities:

• Teach dance courses for the Theatre Program. Courses will include a focus on dance basics with an emphasis on musical theatre style. Each class meets once a week for 90 minutes, from 3:00-4:30 on Tuesday (Beginning) Wednesday (Intermediate), and Thursday (Advanced). This schedule repeats in the Spring.
• Demonstrate effective teaching strategies by planning and implementing a variety of teaching methods as well as assessment.
• Maintain accurate records and documents, submit timely reports, and be responsive to students.
• Records/documents include but are not limited to syllabi and grades.

Qualifications:

• At least a Master's degree in Dance or related area is preferred, with at least 18 graduate hours or significant, relevant professional experience required. Teaching experience is preferred.
• None are required for this position at this time.
• The job requires active, physical movement in order to teach and model various forms of dance.

Additional Information:

• This position is a part-time/temp adjunct position (no more than 29 hours per week) that involves teaching in-person classes on campus at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
• Must be a resident of the state of Texas.
