Job Description

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) seeks an Instructor to deliver approved curriculum and facilitate learning in an applied environment. The instructor will prepare and deliver high‑quality instruction, develop syllabi and instructional plans, and integrate technology to enhance the educational experience. • Deliver high‑quality instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional plans.
• Organize daily classes using creative and innovative techniques.
• Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles.
• Interpret and administer assessments; provide constructive feedback.
• Integrate technology effectively to enrich learning experiences.
• Serve as an ambassador for TSTC, demonstrating core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity.
• Manage student records and maintain an instructional environment.
• Advise students to support timely, accurate, and comprehensive information and retention programs.
• Participate in recruitment events and program planning.
• Demonstrate teamwork, courtesy, and service to students, parents, employers, and the community.
• Maintain flexibility for evening, weekend, or summer assignments as needed.

• Verifiable work experience with industrial equipment.
• Strong electrical / programming skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical motor control systems and schematics.
• Working knowledge of maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems.

• Basic fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) systems.
• Basic PLC operation and programming.
• Programming electrical speed control systems (AC / DC drives).
• Basic machining and welding.
• Related teaching experience.
• Verifiable and demonstrated experience in relevant fields.
