Library Technician

About the Position

This position is Non‑appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Library. It will be filled as a flexible category position.

Open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference(s) and/or priority consideration eligibilities. An applicant’s eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with the application by the closing date, 07/27/2026. • Specialized experience in a library that provided specific knowledge of library rules, policies, and procedures for circulation and technical service.
• General knowledge of standard library rules, policies, and procedures in circulation services.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience or training that demonstrates the ability to perform standard computer skills.
• Typing experience.
• Experience in a library that provides the applicant with general knowledge of standard library rules, policies, and procedures in circulation services.
• Physical ability to frequently lift boxes of up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach up to 72 inches (with or without a step stool), and push loaded book trucks.
• Skill in dealing with the public.

Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their level of competency in the areas listed above.
