ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

Basic Responsibilities
  • Supporting BSSW and MSSW students through the entire cycle of their engagement at ACU, including recruiting, admissions, program completion, professional advising, and alumni relationships.
  • Working closely with the respective program directors and associate directors to schedule events for the School, including recruitment, programmatic, retention efforts, career development, and alumni recognition.
  • Fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that prioritizes retention efforts.
  • Supporting the coordination of School operations, including records keeping, financial management, oversight of student workers, and assisting faculty and director in other tasks related to performance of academic and administrative duties.
Essential Duties
  • Supporting BSSW and MSSW students through the entire cycle of their engagement at ACU, including recruiting, admissions, program completion, professional advising, and alumni relationships.
  • Engage with new incoming freshmen and graduate students
  • Correspond with incoming students
  • Check in with students during their first semester regarding program logistics
  • Support with recruitment and retention plans
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of recruiting events
  • Attend recruiting events
  • Coordinate logistics of retention events for freshman/sophomore undergraduate students and first year graduate students
  • Check in with students as needed to note progress toward degree requirements
  • Partnering with centralized advisors as needed
  • Assist student organizations with maintaining their operations
  • Serve as liaison between School and Alumni Relations
  • Coordinate alumni tracking database and record-keeping related to graduates
  • Facilitate alumni surveys and data to assist with recruiting and marketing efforts
  • Working closely with the respective program directors and associate directors to schedule events for the School, including recruitment, programmatic, retention efforts, career development, and alumni recognition.
  • Support with hosting tours on Visit/Preview Days and other recruitment events as needed
  • Schedule and manage calendar
  • Provide input into marketing script to showcase the school
  • Train and supervise students to assist with recruitment events
  • Manage communication with prospects and faculty
  • Coordinate BSSW program admission requirements and MSSW admissions processes
  • Maintain updated list of inquiries, application statuses, and program admission statuses
  • Communicate admission and financial aid decisions to prospective graduate students
  • Maintain updated student files including class schedules, scholarship requirements and applications, and academic disciplinary statuses
  • Support Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Committee operations
  • Facilitate event management for various high‑profile activities
  • Welcome events
  • Holiday student events (Friends giving, etc.)
  • Faculty pre-sessions
  • Graduation dinners and other celebrations
  • Coordinate advisory council meetings bi‑annually
  • Support logistics of meetings
  • Coordinate high school outreach with faculty
  • Coordinate professional advising and career development events with faculty
  • Facilitate internal communication through frequent emails, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters
  • Support various Chapel experiences
  • Attend events in which students are involved as needed
  • Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that prioritizes retention efforts.
  • Support with recruitment and retention plans that are tailored to the needs of students
  • Engage in supportive relationships with students
  • Assist with communication to students regarding relevant campus and community events, departmental announcements, job listings, etc.
  • Ensure the office spaces are welcoming, accessible, and well-organized
  • Supporting the functional management of the School, including records keeping, financial management, oversight of student workers, and assist faculty and director in other tasks related to performance of academic and administrative duties.
  • Oversee consistency in catalog and program updates throughout handbooks, degree plans, marketing documents, websites, etc.
  • Ensure record keeping is up-to-date and secure
  • Support the director in budget and financial management
  • Initiate PAFs for adjuncts, student workers, graduate assistants, contractors, etc.
  • Coordinate budget revisions and transfers
  • Coordinate purchasing card activities
