Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to serve as a substitute teacher for the Mullin ISD New Horizons campus in Abilene. The ideal candidate will provide instructional support to students in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. The role requires effective communication skills, a passion for education, and the ability to manage diverse classroom dynamics.

Responsibilities
  • Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Engage students in meaningful activities and discussions to promote participation and understanding.
  • Manage classroom behavior and address any issues in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to students on their performance and assist with academic challenges.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student needs and ensure a smooth transition between teachers.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as taking attendance and reporting student progress.
  • Uphold the values and standards of Mullin ISD in all interactions with students, staff, and the community.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, college coursework in education related field preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs.
  • Proficient in using technology and educational tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
