Make a lasting impact by supporting young learners as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a full-time, contract role starting August 19. This opportunity focuses on working with PreK students, enriching their early learning experiences while providing specialized instruction to help them thrive. Situated near Abilene, TX, you’ll collaborate with a passionate team of educators committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every child’s voice is heard.

Key Qualifications &

Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience supporting PreK-aged children, preferably in a school setting
  • Familiarity with a variety of communication strategies, such as sign language and assistive technology
  • Strong ability to adapt materials and teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, families, and staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to PreK students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Assess student needs and monitor progress toward developmental goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the successful inclusion of all students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Maintain open communication with families, offering support and resources as needed
  • Participate in school meetings and professional development activities
