Kiewit Industrial District is looking for an MEP Project Manager that can lead projects exceeding $500 million for vertical buildings in the Advanced Technology Facilities (ATF) markets of semiconductor, data center, and battery manufacturing facilities. Duties include leading a team of estimators, developing and implementing win strategies, preparing conceptual estimates using market data and metrics, presenting estimates to executive management and clients, reading and interpreting documents, soliciting subcontractors, analyzing drawings and specifications, providing lowest‑cost design options for installation, value management, reviewing proposals, and other duties to prepare cost estimates/proposals for various types of work, including self‑perform.
LocationThis full‑time position supports projects across North America. The role requires travel to project locations for the duration of the project and to Kiewit offices as required. Project locations and durations may vary across the United States and Canada. Relocation is provided for long‑term projects and per diem for shorter durations.
Responsibilities- Provide guidance to estimators and engineers during the development phase of a collaborative contract model. Own the project schedule, scope, and budget as the project advances into construction.
- Participate in task force meetings with designers and engineers to bring constructability to the project solution.
- Develop the logic behind the project schedule, including sequencing works and work breakdown structure.
- Communicate and present details to executive management, permitting agencies, stakeholders, and owners, keeping stakeholders informed of the project status through regular meetings and reporting.
- Analyze drawings and specifications to evaluate risks and opportunities, engaging with engineers to ensure the design process stays on schedule. Interact with project controls/finance to ensure the project stays on time and within budget while minimizing risk.
- Review and assist with proposals with the BD team, and work with the estimating team on various components to evaluate best value for money/options.
- Support the selection of key subcontractors and trade partners for the project.
- Demonstrate excellent collaborative behaviors in a multi‑stakeholder environment and foster a culture of innovation.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, or related engineering/technical disciplines and at least 8 years of Project Management experience on engineering/construction projects. If no degree, at least 12 years of PM experience.
- Ability to generate conceptual estimates for the Advanced Technology Facilities Construction market.
- Ability to lead estimates and multiple matrixed teams of engineers, project controls/schedulers assigned to the project.
- Strong work ethic focused on quality, safety, and innovation.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team‑building skills. Proven success delivering projects on time and within budget while minimizing risk.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership ability, agility to work at all levels, and emotional resilience.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Work productively and meet deadlines.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
