Referral Specialist

The Referral Specialist is responsible for performing all aspects of the patient referral process including coordinating and completing referrals ordered by providers; acquiring and verifying third party information for referrals; obtaining referral appointments; and tracking referrals.

• 6 months Scheduling Rep experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

Required Skills;
Knowledge; and Abilities

• Knowledge of medical practice protocols related to scheduling referrals and testing
• Knowledge of manual/ computerized scheduling systems
• Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
• Knowledge of insurance and ability to obtain prior authorization
• Skill in communicating effectively with physicians/ clinicians about referrals/radiology
• Ability to multitask effectively; dealing with phone calls; in-office patients; staff and others pleasantly with calm and clear communication in all circumstances
• Ability to flexibly respond to changing demand and plan; organize and prioritize accordingly
• Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
