Job Title

Collects and distributes newborn birth information to state and local vital statistics agencies in a timely manner.

High School Graduate

1 year experience in health information management

• Ability to carry out obligations and duties of position;
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills;
• Requires the ability to handle confidential information; and deals effectively with hospital personnel & duties of position;
• Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills.
• Skill sets in regards to answering telephones; balancing figures; inputting data into computer programs; maintaining filing systems; maintaining logs; updating patient charts including documentation and proofreading.
• Maintains work area according to OSHA and NIOSH standards.
• Skill sets in regards to equipment including but not limited to calculators; fax machines; laser printer; personal computer; photocopier and word processor.
• Software mastery to include but not limited to:
  State of Texas Birth Certificate Registry System; 3M Softmed chart view;
  Chart Scan; IDX;
  Allscripts and additional software as needed.
