Optometry Technician

Position Overview - ONE YEAR Experience REQUIRED

We are seeking a dependable and patient-focused Optometry Technician to join a professional eye care team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Prepare patients for comprehensive eye examinations.
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories.
• Perform preliminary vision testing, including visual acuity and color vision.
• Perform diagnostic testing such as tonometry, visual fields, lensometry, and other testing as needed.
• Assist the optometrist during examinations and procedures.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment.
• Enter accurate patient information into electronic medical records.
• Educate patients on procedures, contact lens care, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain clean, organized examination rooms and equipment.
• Provide professional and compassionate customer service.
• Assist with patient flow and other clinical duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous optometry, ophthalmology, optical, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong computer and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance.
• Optometric/Ophthalmic Technician certification is a plus but not required unless specified by the employer.

The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with patients
. Experience with ophthalmic equipment, EMR systems, or clinical testing is highly preferred.
