TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.
On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Employees in this classification provide support in an assignedresearch laboratory. Duties include performing standard laboratoryexperiments and procedures on specimens from patients and/orexperimental animals, routine maintenance and clean-up of the laboratory and caring for experimental animals. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present dueto use of radioactive, carcinogenic or other potentially harmfulsubstances.
Major/Essential Functions- Completes assigned laboratory procedures accurately and in accordance with approved protocols, standard operating procedures(SOPs), and supervisor instructions.
- Demonstrates proficiency in assigned techniques within established training timelines.
- Achieves and maintains a high level of accuracy with minimalprocedural errors requiring rework.
- Consistently completes assigned experiments and tasks within established deadlines and promptly reports deviations, anomalies,or procedural concerns to appropriate personnel.
High school graduation. No previous work experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's of Science in natural sciences or related field.
- 1 year of laboratory research experience.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and rodent diseasemodels.
