Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has been providing clinical and operational support to correctional facilities throughout West Texas and other regional areas. We serve approximately 30,000patients utilizing a broad range of comprehensive medical andhealth services. TTUHSC Managed Care strives to positively impactthe lives of our patients, to include many who had no previous access to quality health care.

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required.

On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes clients medications from filled prescriptions.

• Coordinates with patients to deliver and administer medications as ordered and prescribed by providers.
• Follows compliance and departmental standards to ensure patients’ safety is prioritized.
• Ensures physical control of medications is always within department standards.
• Clearly, concisely, and timely documents activities inpatients’ health records and medication administration systems.
• Within the scope of the specific credentials of the teammember, the team member will support clinical activities in thehealth facility under the direction of the facility director andnurse management.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classification and/or position description.

Applicants will be considered for either a Correctional Medication Aide or Correctional Medication Aide Trainee level position basedon education, experience, and skills.

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) with current credential from the Texas Department of State Health Services, OR Successful completion of a certified medication aide training course and passage of State exam.

• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
• CPR certification
• Previous correctional experience.
