Location: Onsite – Abilene, TX (Dyess AFB Area)
Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time

Help Veterans & Military Families Secure Meaningful Employment

We are seeking a Military to Civilian Business Liaison to serve as the primary employer-facing representative for the Military to Civilian Employment Grant. This role is ideal for someone who understands military culture, enjoys business engagement, and wants to drive measurable workforce impact by connecting employers with transitioning service members, recently separated veterans, and military spouses.

Position Overview

The Military to Civilian Business Liaison is responsible for:

  • Building and managing employer relationships
  • Developing job opportunities aligned with military skillsets
  • Coordinating hiring events and veteran-focused outreach
  • Ensuring grant performance metrics and compliance standards are met
  • Representing workforce services at Dyess AFB and related military events

You will collaborate closely with Career Advisors, workforce partners, and employer stakeholders to drive placements and support long-term employment success.

Key Responsibilities Employer Engagement & Business Development
  • Serve as primary employer contact for grant-related initiatives
  • Conduct outreach to local businesses, chambers of commerce, and economic development partners
  • Promote veteran and military spouse hiring initiatives
  • Market workforce services including job fairs, recruitment assistance, Rapid Response, and training initiatives
Job Development & Placement
  • Post and manage openings through
  • Identify On-the-Job Training and work-based learning opportunities
  • Follow up with employers to document hires and ensure placement tracking
  • Collaborate with Business Solutions teams to align talent with employer needs
Events & Partnerships
  • Coordinate veteran- and spouse-focused hiring events
  • Represent the Workforce Center at Dyess Air Force Base, National Guard, and Reserve events
  • Maintain relationships with Transition Assistance Programs and Family Support Centers
Grant Compliance & Reporting
  • Track employer outreach and hiring outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service notes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and workforce reporting standards
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access credentials for Dyess AFB
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, HR, counseling, social work, or related field
  • Veteran, transitioning service member, or current military spouse
  • Workforce development or employer engagement experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
