Senior Systems Administrator / Junior Systems Engineer — Data Center Ops | Abilene, TX

We’re hiring for a full-time, onsite Senior Systems Administrator / Junior Systems Engineer to support a major data center operation in Abilene, TX — one of the fastest-growing hyperscale/AI infrastructure hubs in the country right now.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role for someone who’s built a strong foundation across networking, virtualization, and both Windows and Linux environments, and is ready to grow into a broader engineering seat with real day-to-day ownership.

• Providing onsite administration and support across network, server, and virtualization infrastructure
• Managing and maintaining VMware environments (installs, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance)
• Administering both Windows and Linux systems in a live production data center
• Supporting core networking (switching, routing, basic troubleshooting) at the infrastructure level
• Partnering with senior engineering staff on projects, migrations, and ongoing operational improvements
• Responding to and resolving incidents in a mission-critical, uptime-sensitive environment

• Solid foundation across networking, VMware, Windows Server, and Linux administration
• Prior experience in a data center, NOC, or enterprise infrastructure environment
• Comfortable working onsite, full-time, in a fast-paced, high-availability setting
• A mindset geared toward growth — this role bridges senior admin work into junior engineering responsibility
• Must be local to Abilene, TX or willing to relocate (no remote option — onsite only)
