Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities: collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems.
• Understand the environment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job safely.

Education and/or Experience

No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Must complete all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bilingual is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

$17.00–$18.00 per hour

Shifts

Saturday, Sunday 7 AM–4 PM; 4 PM–1 AM; 10 PM–7 AM
