Position OverviewAs a sUAS Program Manager, you will play an integral role in establishing and maintaining methods for a safe, accurate, and efficient Survey Department. Your responsibilities include managing contractual requirements, design model review, and field survey operations, with approximately 30% of your time spent in the field observing and instructing survey operations.
Responsibilities- Contractual Requirements: Know the PLS requirements for the project, identify the specific surveys required for design, as-built, monumentation and layout.
- Design Model Review: Conduct review to ensure accuracy before field calculations; coordinate with designers on required file types; establish regular meetings to review and plan design survey requests and model file progression.
- Field Survey Operations: Staff the survey department and schedule personnel and equipment; establish a project survey plan and outline field and office procedures; oversee operations with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures, and audit compliance; maintain the official set of plans for the department; provide weekly staff training.
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field.
- Proficiency in applying basic algebra and geometry for calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage).
- Dynamic thinker who can lead, motivate, and mentor teams.
- Self‑starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to working safely and completing work correctly the first time.
- Manage a diverse workload and handle stress with tight deadlines.
- Interact professionally with all levels of management.
- Travel within the U.S. and internationally as required.
- Occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
- Work regular scheduled hours with occasional irregular hours.
- Work productively and meet deadlines.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Perform work safely, following oral and written instructions and safety policies.
- Work normal operating hours and be available for overtime and weekends.
- May work at various locations with differing conditions.
