Senior Data Center Fiber Deployment Lead at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Lead data center construction projects delivered by colocation providers. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Create, review, and maintain key project documentation, including design reviews, commissioning plans, and technical problem‑solving documents. Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure construction activities meet design specifications, approved plans, and industry standards. Conduct detailed site walks and lead the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.

Identify gaps in risk identification and mitigation, develop tailored solutions, and help ensure construction activities remain aligned with project requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact between Oracle and colocation providers, select, negotiate with, and manage external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contract compliance, monitoring vendor performance, and overseeing the installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems.

This role requires on‑site work at Oracle’s Data Center in Abilene, Texas. Relocation packages are available.

• Construction Project Management – Project Planning and Execution
  • Lead the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring timely, on‑budget delivery to quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure milestone delivery across multiple projects.
  • Create and manage project budgets, optimizing resource allocation for cost‑effective execution.
  • Create, review, and maintain documentation, including design review, commissioning, and problem‑solving papers.
• Construction Project Management – Project Integration and Quality Assurance
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate in the coordination and integration of tenant fit‑out projects, ensuring alignment among design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct detailed site walks to monitor schedule, coordination, and quality throughout the project life.
  • Lead the startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects to ensure all systems are operational.
• Risk and Problem Management
  • Evaluate risk profiles associated with timely project delivery across multiple projects.
  • Identify gaps in risk identification and mitigation; develop and implement tailored solutions.
  • Develop and execute mitigation strategies for major construction project risks.
• Stakeholder and Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Oracle and colocation providers, facilitating clear communication and resolving routine issues independently.
  • Maintain key relationships to support internal and external stakeholders and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Design Coordination and Improvement
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure construction activities align with approved design plans and specifications.
  • Provide colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement and identify process enhancement opportunities.
  • Oversee installation of power, cooling, networking, and structured cabling systems to adhere to quality standards.
