Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for assigned project work (single or multiple) and all activities associated with the project(s) from quoting through final close-out, including coordination of work schedules, staffing, contractors, materials, procurement, timeline and budgets. The Project Manager may serve as the primary point of contact to the customer.
Responsibilities- Review plans and other technical documents, answer scope or timing questions, and monitor costs and progress.
- Conduct Pre-Handoff and Post-Handoff meetings with the salesperson and operations team to confirm scope, expectations and document lessons learned.
- Understand contract language and execute projects within contract scope.
- Plan, administer and complete assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas.
- Manage assignments that vary in length, complexity and phases.
- Supervise staff, provide work direction and verify payroll/approval.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, designers and subcontractors using RFI/Q/P processes for cost, scope, staffing, scheduling and change orders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute the project management plan, revise and document plan through a structured change‑order process.
- Prepare project status reports and ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
- Manage job‑site activities of crews and subcontractors.
- Work closely with sales and safety teams to coordinate safety training, accident and injury investigations, equipment or property damage incidents.
- Work onsite and travel to client job sites, directing all project activities.
- Develop detailed project schedule with milestones, deliverables and dependencies based on business objectives, budget, scope, timeline and risks.
- Facilitate weekly meetings to update on progress, resolve issues and communicate with stakeholders and executives.
- Maintain project files in SharePoint for continuity and historic documentation.
- Consistently demonstrate professional conduct as a representative of MEI and adhere to corporate mission, vision and values.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in machinery moving, construction, project management or construction safety.
- Familiarity with field concepts, practices, procedures and risks.
- Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, supervisory and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly self‑directed, motivated and capable of working independently or on a team.
- Ability to assist field technicians in assembly and erection of machine tools.
- Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
- Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Negotiation skills and ability to resolve conflicts early.
- Ability to participate and contribute to department and team meetings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, schematics, manuals and blueprints.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of SharePoint.
- Valid driver’s license and clean background check.
- Ability to travel.

This role requires significant physical activity: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling materials up to 50 lbs, operating at varying heights, working in non‑temperature‑controlled environments and all weather conditions, including uneven ground or terrain.
