TMD - Maintenance Supervisor IV; Region Deputy Regional Manager

Overview

Responsible for supervising maintenance and construction work for State facilities and equipment in Region I. Plans, schedules, oversees staff and contractors, manages requisitions, and reports directly to the Region I Manager.

• Oversee maintenance & construction staff performing highly advanced or large‑scale projects, ensuring work standards and safety and building regulations are met.
• Develop, oversee, and participate in scheduled preventative maintenance programs for all Region I facilities.
• Coordinate outside contractors and advise management on project specifics.
• Prepare maintenance reports, estimates of hours, materials, and resources, and monitor inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain records on work orders and projects using computer‑tracking systems.
• Inspect renovation projects, current conditions, and finished work, reporting findings to staff and management.
• Confer with the Regional Facilities Manager on projects, workloads, and priorities.
• Sketch rough plans and designs for projects and provide advice on options.
• Develop the Region I Safety Program, prepare instructions for machinery operators, and conduct safety training.
• Oversee maintenance and repair work of facilities equipment, boilers, boiler feed pumps, and electronic equipment such as digital controls.
• Assist the Regional Manager with State of Texas Armory Revitalization (STAR) Projects, including pre‑planning, final inspection, and warranty maintenance.
• Supervise, instruct, train, assign, and inspect maintenance technicians; perform timely and accurate performance reviews.
• Serve as primary overseer for CAPPS financials and manager self‑service, the PRIDE web system, State tools, equipment, and vehicles, as well as warranties for TMD facilities in Region I.
• Assume Regional Manager duties in their absence and assist with on‑call duties for after‑hours, weekend, and holiday emergencies.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience performing facility maintenance and repair work in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing.
• Minimum of 4 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Experience maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Preferred:
  Vocational training in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC and experience with HVAC systems.

Monday through Friday, 8‑hour days (40 hours per week). May be required to work on national emergencies, disasters, and other missions, including holidays and weekends.
