Responsibilities

How will you make an impact?

  • Responsible to the Managing Director for the overall operations for the production functions of the Dock Lines, including adequate housing and facilities, and the continued maintenance thereof
  • Directs and coordinates department activities through subordinate supervisors
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, and confers with supervisors to obtain data required for planning department activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered. Assigns, or delegates responsibility for, specified work or functional activities and disseminates policy to supervisors
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates, activities of the Repair Station to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel
  • Gives work directions, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work
  • Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy
  • Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares budget, using computer
  • Prepares reports and records on department activities for upper management, using computer
  • Analyzes records of daily operations to maintain knowledge of facility activities
  • Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices
  • May initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge, or transfer
  • Enforces personnel compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Managing Director
  • Production Manager may delegate all duties to any qualified designee as necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the Production Manager of overall responsibility
  • Responsible for the overall production function for customer’s maintenance
  • Coordinates with the Managing Director and the Director of Quality Control to ensure all aspects of the customer’s maintenance program has been accounted for prior to approval for return to service.

Requirements

  • Airframe and Powerplant License Required.
  • Strong managerial skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of AA budgeting, policies, and procedures desired.
  • Familiarity with functional area.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and PC skills.
  • Ability to manage management, non-management and contract labor work groups.
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language. When applicable, may be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable. Pass U.S. Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). drug testing requirements, including verification with previous employers regarding DOT drug and alcohol violations and/or refusal to test. Applicants are required to fill out “Department of Transportation Testing Inquiry” form which provides authorization for release of records from previous employers
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must speak audibly and clearly communicate with employees, peers, and managers.
  • Must be able to select, train, motivate, evaluate, counsel, and terminate subordinates.
  • Must be able to read, understand, explain, and enforce Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Must be able to review work product of assigned area(s) and recommend changes to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Must be able to prepare written instructions and reports.
  • Must be able to twist, turn, and reach at desk while working with PC and telephone.
  • Must be able to learn PC applications and apply knowledge.
  • Must work well under stress of meeting deadlines.
  • Must work with minimal supervision.
  • Must regularly and timely report to work.
