Job Summary

The General Superintendent is the overall manager on a large and/or complex project. The role ensures all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed, and managed in accordance with the Company's requirements, including safety, quality, management, and financial performance. The Superintendent must carry out all aspects of the assigned project efficiently, covering staffing, materials, financial and customer delivery goals. Salary: USD $30.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline, and discharge project related staff.
  • Effectively manage all human resource issues per Company policies and procedures.
  • Recommend project employees’ performance ratings, promotions, and pay changes.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to achieve all customer and Company goals.
  • Act as the senior liaison for operational interface with customer representatives.
  • Plan for, manage, monitor, and maintain project profitability.
  • Ensure deadlines are met according to customer requirements.
  • Manage overall workload distribution, staffing levels, and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress.
  • Ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance to project budget.
  • Review all job cost postings, prepare invoices, collect customer payments, and submit periodic financial reports.
  • Complete all IES and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
  • Perform quality checks, prevent outages, conduct day‑to‑day job walks, and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Serve as the main on‑site customer contact for questions or concerns and attend facility and construction meetings as required.
  • Demonstrate detailed technical knowledge, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
  • Review and monitor operational processes for accuracy, completeness, and efficiency.
  • Develop, redesign, and implement process improvements to elevate efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the Training Department to monitor quality and safety issues related to operations.
  • Promote safety as the top priority.
  • Lead assigned operations meetings and training sessions.
  • Manage tools, truck inventory, and maintenance.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prefer a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Proficient with a computer and skilled with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • Demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a scope of work, estimate, develop detailed tasks, and manage to final completion and customer turnover.
  • Ability to use trade tools such as punch tool with 110 and 66 block blade, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt‑ohmmeter, 4‑pair continuity tester, and 5‑gang punch tool.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
  • Self‑motivated, positive, and projecting a professional image.
  • Can travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
  • Capable of working at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to stand and walk large job sites regularly.
  • Can see, distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals.
