Responsibilities

  • Support residential School of Social Work students through the entire cycle of engagement, including recruiting, admissions, program completion, professional advising, and alumni relationships.
  • Coordinate and schedule events for the School with program directors and associate directors, covering recruitment, retention, career development, and alumni recognition.
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment that prioritizes student retention.
  • Assist with record keeping, financial management, and oversight of student workers; support faculty and directors with academic and administrative duties.
  • Handle BSSW and MSSW admissions processes, maintain inquiry and application status records, and communicate decisions to prospective students.
  • Plan and participate in recruitment events, including tours, visits, and advertising campaigns; coordinate logistics and manage calendars.
  • Support undergraduate and graduate admissions committee operations and facilitate event management for high‑profile activities such as welcome events, holiday celebrations, graduation dinners, faculty pre‑sessions, and advisory council meetings.
  • Coordinate outreach with high‑school partners, faculty, and external partners; supervise student workers and graduate assistants.
  • Maintain and organize classroom and office supplies, manage purchasing card activities, and oversee budgeting and financial processes.
  • Provide internal communication via emails, blogs, social media, and newsletters; support chapel experiences and other student life events.
  • Ensure office spaces are welcoming, accessible, and well‑organized.
  • Report security, risk management, and safety issues; oversee equipment operation and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Professional Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (master’s preferred); two years of experience in event planning and external communication; strong verbal and written communication skills; computer competency.
  • Personal Qualifications – Empathy and discretion in complex student situations; critical thinking and initiative; ability to create inclusive environments; strong organizational and multitasking abilities; ethical conduct and confidentiality; effective public presence.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to navigate the ACU campus and buildings, sit and use a computer for up to 30 minutes, lift or move items up to 15 lbs., and engage physically in all job responsibilities.
