Overview
ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ, requiring employees to be professing Christians who support ACU’s mission. This role coordinates operational aspects of the simulation labs within the School of Nursing, including equipment, technology, supplies, and simulation processes and procedures. It is a reduced full‑time exempt position with full‑time hours during the academic year (August – May) and reduced hours during breaks and summer.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day activities and services for the simulation labs within the School of Nursing.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and technology within the labs.
- Assist with achieving standards for best practice in simulation and comply with accreditation and regulation requirements.
- Create, maintain, update, and supervise Standard Operating Procedures and associated work instructions for the labs.
- Schedule and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students for lab use, including special events and program sessions.
- Manage inventory, perform semi‑annual inventory counts, and communicate supply needs for ordering.
- Assist with software upgrades and interface with ACU’s Information Technology and Networking departments and vendors.
- Perform simple repairs and maintenance of equipment to keep them in good working order.
- Orient students, faculty, and staff to the simulation labs, policies, procedures, and equipment usage.
- Assist faculty in developing, implementing, evaluating, and refining simulation scenarios.
- Collect and maintain electronic and physical databases of simulations.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, recruiting efforts, and professional development activities.
- Strong computer skills, including troubleshooting and proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe products, simulation software, audiovisual software, networking, and IT environments.
- Experience working with simulation equipment and technology; training in Gaumard equipment, Laerdal simulator, and Google Suite is required.
- Ability to learn ACU systems such as expense reporting and Workday.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Active, unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Texas.
- At least three years of RN experience, with medical‑surgical experience preferred.
- Certification in simulation preferred; experience in simulation preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Excellent organizational, creative, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 pounds; standing, walking, sitting, bending, or reaching for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule availability, including early mornings, evenings, and possible weekends.
