Job Summary
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurses participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Licensed Vocational Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Licensed Vocational Nurses effectively interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Licensed Vocational Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients with predictable outcomes based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well‑versed in a large variety of health conditions.
Licensed Vocational Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Licensed Vocational Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, and must practice within their defined scope of practice.
Job RequirementsMinimum Education
- Completion of Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- 2 Years Experience
- CPR/BCLS certification
- Licensed Vocational Nurse licensed in the State of Texas.
- Input data into computer programs.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ensure excellent time and attendance.
