Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN (ER) for a 13‑week assignment in Abilene, Texas. The role starts on 07/13/2026, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour daytime shifts.

- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved emergency nursing techniques and protocols.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout their time in the emergency department, responding to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice.
- Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based upon emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, considering the acute nature of emergency care.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and other support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certification.
- Preferred: TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking and excellent communication under pressure.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Basic PC skills and ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physical abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel and present a positive attitude.
- Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement assistance during procedures.
- Mental requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain concentration with irregular schedules.
- Sensory requirements – visual acuity and effective communication.
