Employees in this classification are responsible for performing awide variety of patient care activities in a specialty or subspecialty outpatient clinic as assigned from the resource nursepool. This job to be used in Resource Nurse pool only. Incumbents perform a variety of general and specialized nursing duties toprovide the patient with complete evaluations. Work is performed under the direction of a licensed (RN/LVN) nurse or physician aspart of a total health care team in providing complete evaluations to patients.

• Function within the nurse’s legal scope of practice and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization and practice setting.
• In the absence of the SR Staff Nurse, RN will supervise and/or delegate nursing care to other members of the health care teamusing evidence-based practice in accordance with departmentalstaffing model.
• Assists SR Staff Nurse with development, maintenance, revisionand evaluation of protocols and provide daily supervision of nursesand subordinates to include scheduling, activity overview and dailyduties and function.
• Reports data, identifies and reports alterations in patient responses to assist in the identification of problems and formulation of goals outcomes and patient-centered plans of care in collaboration with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Triage andor determines the physical and mental health status,needs, and preferences of culturally, ethnically, and sociallydiverse patients and their families based upon interpretation of comprehensive health assessment findings.
• Analyze assessment data to identify problems, formulategoals/outcomes, and develop plans of care for patients and their families using information from evident-based practice in collaboration with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Refer patients and their families to resources that facilitatecontinuity of care, health promotion, maintenance and restoration.

PRN HRS MON - FRI 8am - 5pm & may wk some SAT 8-1

Abilene

• 2-3 years of experience working in a hospital, ambulatoryclinic, or community-based setting.
• CPRBLS Certified.
• Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience.
• Experience in collecting and processing lab specimens.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in reviewing patient charts for quality indicators.
• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Supervise nursing team in the absence of the SR Staff Nurse.
• Attend required institutional and departmental training sessions.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
• Complete required training(s) and CEUs.
• Staff RN will be required to review patient charts and provideoutcomes for performance management, quality improvement, and required reporting.
