American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of service line experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and CVA patient populations
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specific service line required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drain management
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Must have license in hand at time of consideration
• Facility-administered drug screen upon arrival includes marijuana testing with zero tolerance for positive results

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer or provide a completion plan within that timeframe
• Complete non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours during onboarding
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required, evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 150-mile radius for RN positions
• Hard document due date is Thursday at 2pm CST prior to start, with some flexibility if pending items are communicated in advance
