Overview

QA/QC Manager in a great environment with variable work schedules. Requires Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

Responsibilities
  • Implement the project audit schedule for all multi-disciplinary systems, products and/or processes on the construction task force, including contractors' organizations at jobsites.
  • Assist in the development and review of the project Quality Program documentation manuals, work processes and reporting of quality records management of quality documents.
  • Assist in developing a jobsite orientation program to ensure the project team is familiar with the requirements of the Project Quality Program.
  • Prepare and issue audit reports noting system non-conformances and verify effective corrective/preventive actions.
  • Deliver audit assessment findings to the Construction Manager and Corporate QA/QC Manager to evaluate the need for corrective/preventative actions.
  • Follow up audit findings including corrective/preventive actions.
  • Assess sub-contractors  capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the project as required.
  • Responsible for the performance of all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract.
  • Ensure contract obligations for testing and record keeping are adhered to.
  • Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project and maintain calibration records.
  • Ensure proper turnover of complete quality control packages and that turnover documentation is maintained, organized and turned over on schedule.
  • Maintain project quality records for the construction phase and quality audit plans, performance and management thereof.
  • Assist in establishing and managing a field document control system for construction drawings, specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and as-built drawings.
  • Perform evaluations of sub-contractors  facilities to determine their capabilities in meeting the quality requirements.
  • Conduct periodic Quality Program training for site supervisory personnel.
  • Maintain current documentation on mechanical inspections of electrical installed items (plumb, square, level, tight, etc.).
  • Ensure civil testing is performed by certified inspection technicians (density of subgrades, concrete testing, grout testing, etc.).
  • Ensure installation of concrete/grout is observed and maintain all documentation required for installation through post pouring.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petrochemical complexes, power plants, etc.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
  • Proficient with document management and common software (Word, Excel, PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and ISOs, and understanding of codes and specifications.
  • Capable of obtaining or possessing inspection licenses and/or certifications as required.
  • Proficient in English (reading/writing/communication); additional language skills may be advantageous.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate objects.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolds and other structures while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; good eye-hand coordination; good physical fitness; good sense of balance.
  • Work at great heights.
Tools & Equipment
  • Steel-toed boots; rain coat or poncho.
Environment

Works from a main or field office at construction sites; may travel extensively and stay away from home; handle delays, weather, and emergencies as they arise.

Salary

$25 - $45 per hour
