About the Role
As a Construction Project Commissioning Manager, you will work on a team delivering a hyperscale data center. You will have direct accountability for project quality and commissioning. This job is part of the Construction Management function and the Project Management function. You are responsible for all Commissioning and Quality Control related projects at the site where you are assigned, including expansions, modifications, retrofits and new technology driven projects.
This role is based onsite in Abilene, TX, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
- Manage site-based quality control & quality assurance programs, ensure the GC is executing on this program effectively, while also executing the Cx program and strategically leading Google’s GC; integrates with Google’s Operations team to deliver program goals and deliverables
- Create, update & maintain the project submittal log & all other project-specific quality control reports
- Create, update & maintain the project submittal log & all other project-specific QC reports
- Review shop drawings & submittals for conformance with project specifications
- Chair & document weekly QC meetings with site superintendent
- Meet weekly with QC managers to track, discuss and close BIM 360 QC issues
- Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities constructed in conformance with project standards and address non-conformances in a timely manner
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care for definable features of work; verify checklists are used and signed off prior to placement of concrete, steel and other items
- Verify & document that all materials received are in conformance with the approved submittal
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify work aligns with contract documents and approved submittals
- Document final inspections and acceptance of the works in project phases
- Manage the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure compliance with owner/architect & contract specifications, codes, regulations & requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact & liaison with the Owner for all quality control related issues
- Implement and/or manage keeping of all quality control records and ensure required reporting
- Plan, schedule & coordinate audits/inspections to ensure they are performed and documented; carry out Internal Audits at site as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
- Report results to the respective superintendent(s) promptly and act as a catalyst for follow-up corrective actions & re-inspection when deficiencies are discovered
- Assist Project Safety Coordinator to implement and aggressively enforce safety programs to create a safe and healthy work environment
- Cx related Tasks & responsibilities may include:
- Support technical escalations on testing scope & issues from project level, provide direction
- Support the Quality & Cx Team in all corporate Owner’s program initiatives & meetings
- Assist the QCx Team to develop & implement processes to ensure technical consistency & documentation of QCx program
- Manage QCx reporting & dashboards, develop/maintain metrics
- Support the Program Cx Manager in data collection, recordation & analysis
- Monitor existing on-site Cx processes for consistency & adherence to Google expectations
- As directed by Client, support Cx Program Manager in the proper implementation of Cx strategy/execution
- Work with General Contractors to ensure their QC team understands and follows site requirements for quality assurance & commissioning
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
