Overview
We are seeking entry-level, part-time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate in our pawn store locations nationwide. The role partners with the store team to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The position involves working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
PositionSummary
The Part-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The actual pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities of a Part-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate- Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
- Performs non-management open/close procedures.
- Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains display of merchandise.
- Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Answers incoming calls per company standards.
- Effectively communicates legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
- Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Successfully completes the assigned training.
- Other related duties, as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
- Employees may assist customers on exterior areas or retrieve products stored in exterior storage.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple locations as needed and on a flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
- The best working hours in the business. Most stores open at 9AM and close at 6PM; many stores are closed on Sundays.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of personal performance. Applicants are provided with more details during the interview process.
