Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following the One Best Way OBW service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating profit/loss statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and ensuring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes are optimized. Develops action plans to mitigate shrink and support sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing achievements, and fostering a culture of belonging. Supports inclusion, respect for individuals, and continuous learning. Promotes ethics and integrity, operates with the Open Door Policy, and builds strong relationships with stakeholders.

Encourages acquisition and retention of talent, empowers associates, and recognizes contributions. Acts with integrity, remaining humble, self‑aware, honest, fair, and transparent. Delivers customer‑centric results while balancing short‑ and long‑term priorities, and embraces a culture of belonging and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams through training, listening, and feedback.
  • Communicate with associates on operations, technology, merchandising, and change initiatives.
  • Model and enforce one‑best service standards and manage service initiatives.
  • Resolve customer complaints, create action plans, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze profit/loss, budget, forecast, and control costs to support sales and profit.
  • Oversee merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, and inventory flow.
  • Hire, train, mentor, assign duties, recognize performance, and foster belonging.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, Open Door Policy, and ethical standards.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and promote continuous learning.
  • Act with integrity and prioritize customer, associate, and community interests.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college, or 1 year retail experience + 1 year supervisory experience, or 2 years general work experience + 1 year supervisory experience.
  • For firearms facilities: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For ammunition facilities: current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Attendance and completion of all required job trainings and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership or equivalent via Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising five or more direct reports with responsibilities in performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $65,000.00 – $. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), complex structure incentives, and state pay differential.
