Security Officer

Position: Security Officer I - Full Time
JOB SUMMARY

Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, assist in providing security for patents, employees, visitors and physicians; protects hospital buildings, assets and premise as assigned. Adheres to applicable state laws, follows Hendrick Medical Center's Policy & Security written job guides approved by the department of Security.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

* High School or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience

* 2 years relevant experience

* The minimum age for Security Officer is 21 years of age by date of appointment.

Required Licenses/Certifications

* Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officers state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.

* Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction (obtained within 6 months of employment)

* A clear and active Texas Divers License

* Maintain a clear police record

* Ability to pass prescribed course(s) in weapon proficiency

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

* Ability to deal effectively with community/consumers and hospital personnel.

* Ability to handle confidential information.

* Requires extreme diplomacy and tact.

* Conduct basic investigations and interview others.

* Operate security electronic equipment including CCTV and access control.

* Handles emergency or crisis situations

* Requires judgment or action that could potentially lead to the use of lethal force.
