Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Cabling & Network Infrastructure Technician to support structured cabling, fiber optic installation, and network infrastructure deployments within data center and mission‑critical environments. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with experience in fiber optic termination, Cat6/Cat6A structured cabling, rack and stack, and network hardware installation. You will work in secure, high‑availability facilities supporting enterprise and production environments where precision, quality, and adherence to standards are critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, route, secure, and label fiber optic (single‑mode/multimode) and Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling in data center environments
  • Perform fiber termination (fusion and mechanical splice) and copper termination to industry standards
  • Conduct fiber and copper testing, certification, and troubleshooting using industry‑standard test equipment
  • Install and dress patch panels, splice enclosures, ladder rack, cable trays, and containment systems
  • Perform rack and stack: mount, align, and secure cabinets, racks, servers, switches, and network equipment
  • Maintain proper cable management, airflow compliance, and bend radius standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, network diagrams, and scope documentation
  • Document as‑built conditions, test results, and installation reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and on‑site stakeholders
  • Adhere to safety protocols, security procedures, and compliance requirements within high‑security facilities
  • Represent the organization professionally on client sites
Required Skills/Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in structured cabling, data center installations, or low‑voltage systems
  • Hands‑on experience installing and terminating:
    • Single‑mode and multimode fiber
    • Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling
  • Experience with rack installation, equipment mounting, and patch panel configuration
  • Proficiency using cable testers, OTDR, and certification equipment
  • Working knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background and security screening requirements
Preferred Certifications & Experience
  • BICSI Installer or Technician certification
  • ETA Fiber Optics Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Experience in Tier III or Tier IV data centers
  • Experience working in live/production environments
  • Low‑voltage or structured cabling license (where applicable)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights
  • Ability to work under raised floors or in confined spaces
  • Capable of standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in temperature‑controlled, high‑security environments
Work Environment
  • Data centers, telecom rooms, and network facilities
  • Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven project environments
  • May include night, weekend, or off‑hours support
  • High‑security, compliance‑driven settings
