Fiber Optic Technician

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single mode and multi-mode)
• Perform fiber splicing (fusion and mechanical) and OTDR testing
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic links and networks
• Read and interpret fiber optic system blueprints, layouts, and splice diagrams
• Install fiber patch panels, enclosures, and related infrastructure
• Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)
• Support addition allow voltage systems as needed at commercial and industrial sites (schools, hospitals, offices, warehouses, etc.)

• 3+ years of commercial fiber optic installation/splicing experience
• Experience with OTDR, power meter, and fiber test equipment
• Working knowledge of telecom and data networks
• BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus
• Manufacturer or FOA (Fiber Optic Association) certifications a plus
• Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
• Willingness to travel to job sites within Texas as needed
