Job SummaryThe Field Engineer I - Security Systems must be able to program and install security systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. Server and Software Programming (Genetec, Axis, AMAG, and Symmetry).
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems in a senior service support role, including testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions, and field verification of connections, labels, installation and work quality.
- Understands advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals, and can create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off.
- Manages the technical work in the field with little supervision.
- Works both “in house” and in the field when required.
- Assumes ownership of project installation, supporting field staff and project manager, and provides advanced support for field installation staff.
- Assists with maintaining and completing project punch‑list for project close‑outs.
- Oversees the technical aspects of projects, performs quality‑checks, tests all equipment and functionality, and creates punch lists.
- Assists sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations.
- Handles other responsibilities as assigned.
- Pay range: min USD $35.00/Hr. max USD $47.00/Hr.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. - 3–4 years commercial security systems cabling experience (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion systems).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
- Able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop detailed tasks and manage them to final completion and customer turnover.
- Proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with ability to read, write and give oral presentations.
- High skill level interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications and quality requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installations.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication with customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Physical and mental requirements: regular attendance mandatory; self‑motivated, positive approach; professional leadership; evidence of project process improvement; strong communication and customer service; ability to read technical manuals.
Field Engineer I – Security Systems. Path to Security Systems PM. Minimum 2–4 years experience. License required.
