Location

San Antonio, Texas, with travel to various Vulcan Materials South Texas operations

What You’ll Do
  • Promote Safety:
    Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment:
    Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant to maximize performance and limit downtime.
  • Inspect Equipment and Materials:
    Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Handle and Move Objects:
    Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant.
  • Document and Record Information:
    Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment; enter and maintain service reports for all mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
  • Operate Equipment:
    Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant to ensure production continues efficiently.
  • Perform General Physical

    Activities:

    Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Skills You’ll Need
  • Experience:

    Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices:
    General principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment are preferred.
  • Flexibility:
    Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, work outside in all types of weather conditions, and tolerate loud noises.
  • Mechanical

    Skills:

    Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance is required.
