Job Overview
Linetec, a division of the Centuri Group, offers a stable, long‑term career as a Lineman B2. The role involves building and maintaining multiphase energized utility facilities across the U.S. and Canada.
Responsibilities- Work on utility poles and fixtures in energized situations.
- Demonstrate proper cover application, handling energized multiphase primary conductors and working around covered multiphase lines.
- Frame transformer banks, rotate three‑phase secondary/services, and troubleshoot overhead lines.
- Complete tree trimming, multimeter operations, use line test equipment, cut‑outs and reclosures, perform advanced rigging, line repair with rubber gloves and hot sticks.
- Read job prints and build to specification.
- Follow safety performance requirements.
- Introduction to URD installations, overhead line installation and removal, safety in URD maintenance, voltage regulator handling, rigging for high voltage, and transformer connections.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership.
- Minimum 3.5 years of experience in the electrical power‑line industry.
- All skills required for a Lineman B1.
- Understanding of basic electricity and proper use, care, and maintenance of hot sticks.
- Pass evaluation of competency before promotion and activity in the Apprenticeship Training Program.
- Valid Class A CDL required.

- Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead, up to 50 lbs), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling.
- Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment.
- Working safely requires quick and accurate hand‑eye coordination and the ability to remain in a constant state of alertness.
- Pass pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Provide valid U.S. work authorization documents for E‑Verify.
- Satisfactory pre‑employment background check results.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Pass pre‑employment medical fit‑for‑duty test; hold or obtain DOT medical card.
