12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter
Experience with Installation of Emergency Lighting Desired, but not Required
Pay Rate for Qualified Candidates - $19 to $21, Pay Rate is Dependent on Experience

Texas Communications needs to hire a 12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter whose primary responsibilities are listed below. Texas Communications will provide industry specific training for the right candidates.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday. Some weekend work may be applicable for large projects

• Work on police, public safety and other vehicles for both local and federal accounts.
• Install, repair, test, and remove 12-volt law enforcement vehicle equipment, including, but not limited to light bars, flashers, sirens, video cameras, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, equipment boxes, radios, speakers, antennas, routers, and more.

• Experience with installation of emergency lighting desired, but not required
• Automotive or marine 12v experience is a plus.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks that may require access to confined spaces to modify the vehicles to the client’s requirements.
• ASA Certified Mechanic preferred but not required
• Knowledge of vehicle wiring
• Ability to identify electrical circuits
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Ability to work on and see small objects
• Good hearing and color vision
• Be prompt and prepared to work
• Lift 50 pounds to waist level
• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification is desired, but not required upon hire but must be obtained within 3 months to continue employment
• All applicants are required to demonstrate the ability to pass all pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, pre-employment drug screening and be able to present a valid driver's license
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident
