12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter
Experience with Installation of Emergency Lighting Desired, but not Required
Pay Rate for Qualified Candidates - $19 to $21, Pay Rate is Dependent on Experience
Texas Communications needs to hire a 12-Volt Public Safety Installer / Upfitter whose primary responsibilities are listed below. Texas Communications will provide industry specific training for the right candidates.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday. Some weekend work may be applicable for large projects
Responsibilities- Work on police, public safety and other vehicles for both local and federal accounts.
- Install, repair, test, and remove 12-volt law enforcement vehicle equipment, including, but not limited to light bars, flashers, sirens, video cameras, laptops, printers, consoles, transport partitions, equipment boxes, radios, speakers, antennas, routers, and more.
- Experience with installation of emergency lighting desired, but not required
- Automotive or marine 12v experience is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks that may require access to confined spaces to modify the vehicles to the client’s requirements.
- ASA Certified Mechanic preferred but not required
- Knowledge of vehicle wiring
- Ability to identify electrical circuits
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Ability to work on and see small objects
- Good hearing and color vision
- Be prompt and prepared to work
- Lift 50 pounds to waist level
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification is desired, but not required upon hire but must be obtained within 3 months to continue employment
- All applicants are required to demonstrate the ability to pass all pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, pre-employment drug screening and be able to present a valid driver's license
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be a current resident
