Position Summary
Plan, lay‑out, install, test and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties- Interpret drawings, sketches, software, plans and determines best work procedures, tools and equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
- Install control and distribution apparatus and fasten in place.
- Test and start up systems and check continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
- Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
- May be required to pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
- Work with high and low voltage systems.
- Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
- Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical tools.
- Estimate sizes, distances and quantities; or determine time, costs, resources or materials needed to perform a work activity.
- Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies, and enforce corrective action.
- May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Must possess strong working knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, layout tools and measurement tools.
- Constantly move about a construction or industrial site; must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
- Work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
- May be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, mobile lifts or scaffolds to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet); must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
- May be required or able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction or industrial site.
- Must have required tools.
- Licenses (list requirements).
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, and perform other duties as required.
- Ability to pass pre‑access drug and alcohol testing and fit‑for‑duty medical examination.
