Overview

Schneider’s Field Service Representatives collaborate with customers, team members and third‑party partners to assemble, start‑up, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on both Schneider‑produced and third‑party equipment in a variety of dynamic environments. They are problem solvers, customer‑focused and passionate about their work. This site‑based, 40‑hour per week position supports power distribution and critical power infrastructure. Travel and occasional non‑standard hours may be required.

Typical

day
  • Pre‑site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment
  • Problem solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams
  • Completion of field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance, and startup data sheets
  • Working with managers and/or regional service directors to resolve complex escalated issues
  • Continuous learning and training on various products in the field and in the classroom
Possible tasks on some days
  • Travel throughout the region for local customer support or country‑wide travel, including overnight travel by vehicle or air
  • Assist senior technicians and support project management on larger system start‑ups
  • Work alongside larger teams of Field Service Representatives and collaborate with project managers on higher‑complexity projects
  • Act on behalf of the district service manager to resolve operational issues as required
Qualifications
  • An associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, military training or similar experience in electrical‑related disciplines
  • The ability to read blueprints/schematics
  • Thorough understanding of AC and DC power principles and various AC and DC supply circuit components
  • Two or more years of field service repair and customer service with UPS systems, power distribution and switch gear, seamless automatic transfer switches, power distribution units, and electrical/electro‑mechanical or electronics equipment
  • Two or more years in field services or equivalent industry experience
  • English proficiency for communication with customers and team members
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and ability to navigate company digital tools
  • Good safety practices and adherence to company safety procedures (lock‑out tag‑out, compliance with all safety programs, completion of safety‑related trainings on time)
  • Identification and reporting of hazards in the work area, safety matters, incidents, or near‑misses to management or safety representative
  • NFPA‑70E or OSHA experience preferred
  • Safe driving and vehicle operation skills
  • Skilled at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and operation manuals
  • Ability to write service reports, correspondence, and procedures, and to present information effectively to customers
  • Physical strength for tasks that require bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying items up to 40 pounds
  • Work outside in various environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, and dust
  • Remain in a standing position for extended periods and work in small, confined spaces
