SUMMARY/SCOPE: Instruct safe and functional group exercise classes; assist participants with equipment set up and help them with class routines; create a safe, fun, encouraging, educational environment for improving participant's bodies and minds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possesses and will maintain a current group fitness training certification through ACE. NASM, AFAA, ACSM, CSCS or any NCAA certifications.
Possesses and maintains a current CPR certification (Copy available on request)
Arrive with enough time prior to class starting, to set up.
Provide their own music for classes.
Stay current on class format and instructing techniques.
To provide excellent customer service through communication, effort, and attitude to all persons entering the facility.
To enforce all facility rules and regulations as outlined in the policy section of this manual in an equal, fair and friendly manner.
Be knowledgeable of safe and effective instructional techniques. Watch for unsafe practices or conditions and remedy such situations immediately.
The instructor will modify the format of the exercises accordingly to meet the participants needs and abilities.
Be knowledgeable of fitness training techniques.
Open to feedback and suggestions on class format.
Inspect and maintain all group exercise equipment and stereo equipment.
Will clean all equipment and put it away.
Handle all injuries, accidents, blood spills, and emergency situations as they arise. (Confer with the building supervisor on duty for any assistance).
Handle and control any disturbances that occur.
Report to Director on class participation size and any other concerns that may arise.
